Vaulted Deep has been named a 2026 Wichita Business Journal Innovation Awards honoree, spotlighting the company’s Great Plains facility in Hutchinson as a core piece of modern waste and carbon management infrastructure for Kansas. The recognition centers on Vaulted Deep’s use of historic salt caverns to permanently store otherwise unusable organic waste, aligning environmental benefits with regional economic gains.

Since acquiring the Hutchinson site in 2023, Vaulted Deep has processed more than 140,000 tonnes of organic waste, reducing emissions and improving local air and water quality, while tripling the facility’s capacity through upgrades completed in 2025. The company has also created over 30 full-time jobs with benefits and invested more than $10.8 million into the Kansas economy, supported by partnerships with local governments, trucking firms, farmers, and service providers that position the site as a long-term community and climate infrastructure asset.
