Ursa Major has reached a key operational milestone as its Hadley liquid rocket engine completed 10 consecutive successful flights with Stratolaunch, including multiple missions at sustained hypersonic speeds, underscoring the company’s ability to field flight-proven, reusable propulsion for national security applications. Several of these missions reused previously flown Hadley engines, demonstrating durability, quick turnaround, and a clear route to lowering cost per flight while increasing mission cadence.

Chief Executive Officer Chris Spagnoletti emphasized that these missions are not mere demonstrations but operational test-bed flights, presenting the 10-flight record as evidence that practical hypersonic capability is now in hand and can be scaled for the warfighter. The Hadley engine, a liquid oxygen-based system manufactured using advanced additive techniques, allows Ursa Major to move rapidly from design to testing to repeated flight, and the company is now concentrating on ramping production and flight rate as demand for hypersonic systems grows, positioning itself as one of only three U.S. firms to prove and refly a reusable hypersonic liquid rocket engine.
