UNION Technologies has entered a strategic partnership with X-Bow Systems to deploy software-defined, surge-capable manufacturing capacity for solid rocket motor propulsion across the U.S. defense industrial base. At the core of the collaboration, UNION provides its factory orchestration software to turn X-Bow’s modular propulsion manufacturing assets into rapidly reconfigurable, distributed production nodes.
By integrating UNION’s real-time telemetry, configuration, and digital process control with X-Bow’s plug-and-play production modules, the companies aim to create a data-driven manufacturing network that can adapt quickly to changing defense requirements. For UNION, this expands the addressable market for its Factories-as-a-Stockpile model into high-priority energetics and propulsion programs.
The partnership targets reduced changeover times between propulsion configurations, mitigation of energetics bottlenecks, and higher throughput via a node-based architecture that can be replicated and deployed regionally. UNION’s Faction manufacturing execution system and Fabric data platform will underpin digitally orchestrated production modules, enabling consistent execution and auditability across multiple sites.
UNION’s CEO emphasized that its software is designed to deliver disciplined, data-verified manufacturing control at mission scale, positioning the firm as a critical digital backbone for emerging defense production models. X-Bow executives highlighted that pairing their modular hardware approach with UNION’s software is expected to accelerate everything from design iteration to volume production.
Backed by venture funding and strategic government relationships on the X-Bow side, the collaboration is aligned with U.S. priorities to reinforce munitions and propulsion capacity amid evolving defense demands. For UNION, the deal serves as a reference deployment for configuration-driven, software-led factories in classified and sensitive supply chains.
The initiative is expected to enhance UNION’s role as an infrastructure provider to defense manufacturers, while potentially creating recurring software revenue tied to each activated production node.
