Trendyol Backs Nationwide Training Initiative to Attract New E-Commerce Sellers

According to a recent LinkedIn post from Trendyol Group, the company is participating in the “E-Commerce Empowerment Project” led by Türkiye’s Ministry of Trade in collaboration with TOBB and MÜSİAD. The initiative appears aimed at training merchants and SMEs that are new to e-commerce, with programs being rolled out across multiple provinces and initially launched in Aydın.

The post highlights that Trendyol is offering a package of incentives to new sellers who complete the training, including a 20% commission discount for 60 days after listing their first product and one-on-one consultancy on e-commerce, e-export, and seller panel processes. Additional benefits cited include discounted KEP addresses, a free e-invoice package for 60 days, bank credit and card opportunities, and enhanced terms and visibility for women entrepreneurs and cooperatives.

From an investor perspective, the initiative suggests a strategy to accelerate seller acquisition, strengthen the platform’s merchant base, and deepen relationships with government and business associations in Türkiye. By lowering onboarding costs and offering advisory support, Trendyol may improve seller retention and expand product variety on the marketplace, which could support higher gross merchandise volume over time.

The targeted support for women entrepreneurs and cooperatives, including special commission advantages and a “Women Entrepreneur” badge, indicates a push into socially oriented and inclusive growth themes that may enhance brand perception and regulatory goodwill. If the project scales effectively across cities, it could reinforce Trendyol’s competitive position in Turkish e-commerce and create a pipeline of loyal, early-stage sellers whose growth is closely tied to the platform’s ecosystem.
