TransPerfect Legal Deepens APAC Construction Disputes Capabilities With Senior Hire

New updates have been reported about TransPerfect.

TransPerfect Legal is expanding its Asia-Pacific footprint and construction disputes capabilities with the appointment of Christian Breen as Senior Director of Consulting, based in Australia. The move strengthens TransPerfect’s ability to support complex disputes and investigations across the construction and infrastructure sectors in Australia, New Zealand, and the wider region.

Breen will lead client engagements and internal teams to deploy technology-driven solutions across the full dispute and investigation lifecycle, including managing large, fragmented data sets and optimizing workflows for commercially focused outcomes. He will work closely with TransPerfect Legal’s global Construction Dispute Practice Group on high-stakes matters and apply AI-enabled tools that TransPerfect President and Co-CEO Phil Shawe has highlighted as now essential to delivering modern legal services.

With nearly 20 years of experience in construction and insurance law, Breen has handled some of the most complex and high-value contentious matters from both private practice and in-house roles. Most recently, he served as Legal Lead ANZ for Complex Resolutions at a global infrastructure company, where he oversaw multi-jurisdictional teams and was directly responsible for resolving claims valued in the hundreds of millions of dollars.

Breen said he was attracted to TransPerfect Legal’s combination of global scale and practical, technology-led dispute solutions and intends to leverage next-generation tools to help clients mitigate and resolve high-stakes conflicts. For TransPerfect, the hire is a targeted investment in a data-intensive vertical where advanced eDiscovery, forensic technology, and AI capabilities can differentiate its offering and deepen relationships with major infrastructure and construction clients.

The appointment underscores TransPerfect Legal’s strategy of coupling local domain expertise with its Reef Technology ecosystem and broader language and AI platforms to win more complex mandates from Am Law 200, Global 100, and corporate legal departments. As infrastructure spending and related disputes rise across APAC, this addition positions TransPerfect to capture growing demand for integrated legal technology, advisory, and dispute resolution support in the region.
