TransPerfect is expanding the reach of its proprietary Reef ECA eDiscovery engine through a new integration with Merlin Search Technologies’ Alchemy platform, positioning its legal technology unit more deeply in AI-driven litigation workflows. Under the arrangement, Merlin will standardize Reef ECA as the processing layer across all Alchemy cloud deployments, giving TransPerfect a central role from data ingestion through early case assessment for law firms and corporate legal departments.
By embedding Reef ECA into Alchemy, TransPerfect enables clients to cull large, multi-format data sets by more than 90% on average before Merlin’s generative AI models perform document review and investigation, materially reducing time and hosting costs. TransPerfect President and Co-CEO Phil Shawe said the combined stack addresses client demand for reduced complexity in eDiscovery by replacing fragmented, multi-vendor workflows with a single, compliant pipeline, which should enhance stickiness for TransPerfect’s legal solutions and support further adoption of its Reef Technology ecosystem across global litigation, regulatory, and investigation matters.
