TransPerfect has strengthened its media and entertainment portfolio by acquiring Omnimago GmbH, a German post-production and film restoration specialist that will be integrated into TransPerfect Media. The deal, whose financial terms were not disclosed, expands TransPerfect’s European studio network and enhances its capabilities in restoration, post-production, and media accessibility services for broadcasters, studios, distributors, and cultural institutions.
With Omnimago’s Ingelheim facility joining existing sites in France, Italy, and the U.S., TransPerfect can now offer end-to-end scanning and restoration, including expertise in nitrate and archive film, across key global production hubs. Omnimago’s Managing Director, Michael Dienes, will remain in place and join TransPerfect Media’s management team, providing continuity for clients while aligning the business with TransPerfect’s global growth strategy.
TransPerfect leadership positioned the acquisition as a strategic move to deepen relationships with European filmmakers and content owners by pairing Omnimago’s heritage restoration strengths with TransPerfect’s AI-enabled localization and distribution infrastructure. The combined platform is expected to support a broader range of preservation and post workflows, including subtitling, audio description, and other accessibility services that are increasingly critical for regulatory compliance and global release strategies.
For TransPerfect, the transaction underscores continued investment in higher-value media services that complement its core language and AI offerings, with potential to drive incremental revenue from archive monetization and catalog remastering projects. The acquisition also reinforces TransPerfect Media’s hybrid model of owned studios and cloud-based tools, positioning the company to capture demand from streaming platforms, rights holders, and institutions seeking scalable, technically sophisticated restoration and post-production solutions.
