TransPerfect has acquired Omnimago GmbH, a German specialist in film restoration, post-production, and accessible media services, in a move that materially expands TransPerfect Media’s footprint in Europe and its end-to-end media offering. Omnimago, founded in 1983 and recognized for its work on nitrofilm, archival materials, and historic collections, will be integrated into TransPerfect’s media and entertainment division while continuing to operate from its Ingelheim headquarters under managing director Michael Dienes.
With the deal, TransPerfect can now provide film scanning and restoration from facilities in France, Italy, the U.S., and Germany, enhancing its capacity to support global clients with preservation and post-production services across multiple territories. Although financial terms were not disclosed, the acquisition strengthens TransPerfect’s positioning in high-value restoration and accessibility workflows for broadcasters, studios, distributors, and cultural institutions, aligning with broader demand for digitization, localization, and accessibility of content libraries. Phil Shawe, TransPerfect’s president and co-CEO, framed the transaction as a way to deepen relationships with European filmmakers and expand shared customer support, while Omnimago’s leadership cited the partnership as a platform to scale its services across Europe without compromising quality.
