TollBit’s latest State of the Bots Report, highlighted in Inc. Magazine, shows AI bot visits rising sharply in 2025 from roughly one for every 200 human visits to about one for every 31. At the same time, AI application clickthrough rates fell from 0.8% in Q2 to 0.27% in Q4, suggesting heavier automated activity but weaker measured engagement.
Retrieval-augmented generation bots are cited as the fastest-growing segment, scraping content in real time and behaving more aggressively than traditional training bots. TollBit argues that existing monetization tools like subscriptions, ads, and affiliate links are optimized for human users, while its platform focuses on monetizing real-time bot access as non-human traffic gains share.
The company says AI firms can access licensed content via its platform in under 100 milliseconds, offering a low-latency alternative to slower and less reliable web scraping. TollBit also reiterates that it already operates a live, revenue-generating marketplace that has processed millions of transactions, underscoring its role as production-grade infrastructure rather than a pilot.
