TitanX, a Knoxville-based Phone Intent™ software company, has raised $27 million in Series A funding from growth equity firm Updata Partners to accelerate expansion of its outbound sales intelligence platform. The company’s core technology uses a proprietary scoring model to predict which prospects are most likely to answer phone calls, enabling sales teams to achieve connect rates above 25%—roughly six times the typical 4% industry average—without adding headcount or replacing existing sales tools. The raise follows more than 250% year-over-year revenue growth, rapid traction with mid-market and enterprise customers, and what the company describes as a first-mover advantage in the emerging Phone Intent category. Founder and CEO Joey Gilkey said the decision to raise was primarily about selecting a partner aligned with TitanX’s ambition to set the standard for modern revenue execution rather than simply matching competitors.
Proceeds from the Series A will be used to enhance TitanX’s scoring engine, deepen integrations across outbound sales workflows, launch additional products tailored to phone-led revenue teams, and pursue selective M&A to consolidate capabilities in the space. Updata Partners’ General Partner Braden Snyder said TitanX has built a category-defining platform as a bootstrapped company at a time when volume-based outbound has become less effective, positioning it as a potential foundational layer for modern outbound execution. Founded in 2024, TitanX has grown to more than 300 customers primarily through word-of-mouth, supported by an executive team with experience typically associated with later-stage companies. As revenue organizations confront pressure to generate more pipeline with fewer resources, TitanX aims to position its Phone Intent data and software as the intelligence layer that improves call efficiency, pipeline creation, and overall sales productivity for enterprise and mid-market clients.
