Thunes has been named “Best Cross-Border Payment Solution” at the 2026 Merchant Payments Ecosystem (MPE) Awards in Berlin, reinforcing its positioning as a key infrastructure provider for global merchant and marketplace payouts. The judging panel highlighted Thunes’ ability to deliver competitive FX and fees across a broad network of countries, currencies, and local payment methods, including in emerging markets, while maintaining strong compliance and resilience.
According to the MPE criteria, the award recognises providers that materially reduce FX risk, compliance friction, and operational complexity for merchants expanding internationally, areas that are central to Thunes’ Direct Global Network and treasury capabilities. Judges also cited Thunes’ use of instant or near‑instant money movement, AI‑driven treasury, optimised liquidity management, and early deployment of blockchain and stablecoin infrastructure, along with a stated ESG agenda, as differentiators in a crowded cross‑border space.
