Summit Ridge Energy has entered a strategic partnership with Chicago-based JIREH Workforce Solutions to build a dedicated talent pipeline for clean energy jobs, anchored by the opening of JIREH’s new training center on Adams Street. The collaboration is designed to train and place candidates from underserved communities into solar and broader clean energy roles that directly align with Summit Ridge Energy’s growing project portfolio.
Under the partnership, JIREH will provide hands-on training in solar design, construction, and maintenance, while Summit Ridge Energy supplies industry input, hiring pathways, and support to expand program capacity. Backed by Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity funding under the Future Energy Jobs Act and philanthropic capital, the initiative aims to close workforce gaps that could constrain Summit Ridge Energy’s growth in Illinois and the broader Midwest.
For Summit Ridge Energy, the training center functions as a feeder platform for recruiting veterans, returning citizens, and young adults who earn industry-recognized credentials tailored to employer demand. CEO Steve Raeder emphasized the long-standing relationship with JIREH’s founders and positioned the partnership as a way to secure reliable, mission-aligned labor for one of the fastest-growing sectors in the U.S. energy market.
The facility will operate as a hub for classroom instruction, lab-based technical training, and community engagement, with wraparound services intended to improve retention and job-readiness. By helping scale JIREH’s programs and linking graduates to real job opportunities, Summit Ridge Energy strengthens its workforce pipeline, supports local economic mobility, and reinforces its strategic position as a leading developer of distributed solar and storage projects across the country.
