STACK Infrastructure has overhauled key leadership roles in its Americas business, appointing Mike Casey as Chief Operating Officer, Addam Friedl as Chief Technology Officer, and Kevin Hughes as Chief External Affairs Officer, effective immediately. The moves are designed to align operations, technology, and external stakeholder engagement as demand for large-scale, AI-ready digital infrastructure accelerates across North America.

Casey, a long-time leader within STACK, will oversee the full project lifecycle from design through operations, aiming to tighten execution, standardize platforms, and ensure on-time, on-budget delivery across a growing portfolio. His mandate is to deepen operational discipline and performance at scale, reinforcing reliability and safety as STACK builds out capacity for hyperscalers and other enterprise clients.

Friedl, bringing decades of experience in data center engineering and supply chain strategy, will drive how STACK designs and executes future facilities, with an emphasis on high-density, energy-efficient infrastructure that can be replicated quickly across markets. His role is expected to directly influence capital efficiency, speed to market, and the company’s ability to respond to fast-changing technical requirements, including power density, cooling, and sustainability targets.

Hughes, who previously built STACK’s Public Affairs function and held policy leadership roles at Meta, will expand the company’s engagement with communities, economic development agencies, and policymakers in markets where STACK is investing. His remit is to secure permitting and regulatory support, manage local impact, and position STACK as a responsible infrastructure partner at a time when data center growth is drawing heightened political and community scrutiny.

Chief Executive Officer Matt VanderZanden said the appointments reflect a deliberate effort to match leadership with STACK’s growth priorities, citing the need to balance rapid expansion with responsible development and strong client relationships. Collectively, the new structure is intended to strengthen STACK’s competitive position in a rapidly evolving digital infrastructure market by integrating engineering innovation, execution discipline, and proactive external affairs, supporting continued portfolio expansion and long-range investment decisions in the Americas.
