Speedata Partners With Nebul to Deploy APU Technology in European Sovereign Cloud

According to a recent LinkedIn post from Speedata, the company is collaborating with Nebul, described as a European sovereign AI “neocloud,” to deploy Speedata’s Analytics Processing Unit (APU) technology in European cloud infrastructure. The post characterizes this as Speedata’s first commercial APU deployment in a European cloud setting, targeting enterprise analytics workloads.

The LinkedIn post highlights that in one cited enterprise deployment, customers reportedly replaced 38 servers with 3 APU-based systems, achieving over 90% cost reduction and up to 100x performance gains on Apache Spark workloads. The post also emphasizes that these deployments maintain data under full European jurisdictional control, aligning with rising regulatory and data-sovereignty requirements in the region.

According to the post, Speedata’s APU executes Apache Spark SQL natively in silicon, aiming to accelerate batch ETL, AI data preparation, and RAG pipelines by addressing data-layer bottlenecks rather than competing directly with GPUs. For investors, this suggests a potential competitive niche in AI and big data infrastructure, where specialized accelerators could offer significant total cost of ownership advantages for cloud and enterprise customers.

If Nebul can scale customer adoption of Speedata’s APU within its sovereign cloud offering, Speedata could gain recurring revenue opportunities and stronger positioning in the European analytics and AI infrastructure market. The focus on sovereignty and operational efficiency may resonate with regulated industries and public-sector clients, potentially expanding Speedata’s addressable market and improving the company’s long-term growth prospects if the reported performance and cost metrics are validated at scale.
