Spacelift has introduced Spacelift Intelligence, an AI-driven orchestration layer designed to help infrastructure and platform teams keep pace with AI-accelerated software development. The suite centers on Spacelift Intent, now generally available after a design preview, and a new AI assistant that lets teams query, design, and manage infrastructure through natural-language interactions.

By embedding Intent into Spacelift Intelligence, the company offers a rapid, AI-powered deployment path for prototyping and experimentation that runs alongside traditional Infrastructure as Code and GitOps workflows rather than replacing them. This dual-track approach aims to relieve friction created as 90% of developers adopt AI tools, while infrastructure typically still moves in weeks, not minutes.

According to co-founder and chief R&D officer Marcin Wyszynski, traditional IaC pipelines were never built for the current pace of AI-driven feedback and experimentation, and customers now require AI support not just for deployment speed but for system-level understanding. The Intelligence suite is intended to make infrastructure a first-class participant in AI-era development workflows, reducing instability and operational pressure on platform teams.

The AI assistant extends across the full Spacelift platform, enabling users to ask detailed questions about infrastructure state, upcoming changes, and incidents without manually searching logs or code. It also supports drafting and enforcing policies, managing configuration drift, and troubleshooting through AI-generated diagnostics that cut down time spent investigating failed runs and assessing change impact.

Spacelift Intelligence is structured to support gradual AI adoption, starting with visibility and learning before expanding into automated provisioning and orchestration as trust in AI recommendations increases. The company plans to expand the suite with additional AI features over time, positioning Spacelift as a core control plane for both traditional IaC and AI-provisioned environments.

The launch has strategic implications for Spacelift’s role in the cloud infrastructure ecosystem, as enterprises seek to align infrastructure delivery with AI-powered development pipelines. Spacelift will demonstrate Intelligence and real-world use cases at KubeCon + CloudNativeCon Europe 2026 in Amsterdam, signaling a push to deepen adoption among DevOps and platform leaders managing large-scale, compliance-sensitive environments.

The platform continues to integrate with widely used tools such as Terraform, OpenTofu, CloudFormation, Pulumi, and Ansible, aiming to serve as an orchestration layer that standardizes workflows across mixed infrastructure stacks. For existing and prospective customers, the move suggests Spacelift is investing heavily in AI as a competitive differentiator and as a way to mitigate operational bottlenecks created by the rapid uptake of AI-assisted coding.
