Snyk Uses Global Capture the Flag Event to Deepen Developer Security Engagement

Snyk has shared an update. The company announced the return of its annual global “Fetch the Flag” Capture the Flag (CTF) competition, scheduled for February 12–13, run in collaboration with well-known security practitioner NahamSec. The event will feature 15 hands-on security challenges, team-based global competition, prizes for top-performing teams and individuals, and the opportunity for participants to earn Continuing Professional Education (CPE) credits.

For investors, this initiative underscores Snyk’s ongoing strategy to deepen engagement with the cybersecurity developer community and strengthen its brand as a security-focused developer tools provider. By offering an educational, skills-oriented competition that also grants CPE credit, Snyk positions itself as a partner in professional development for security practitioners, which may help drive product awareness and adoption over time. While the direct near-term revenue impact of such an event is likely limited, recurring global CTF programs can support long-term customer acquisition, reinforce customer loyalty, and enhance Snyk’s standing within the broader application security and DevSecOps ecosystem, potentially contributing positively to its competitive position in a crowded market.
