Slingshot secured Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) Level 2, confirming its ability to protect Controlled Unclassified Information for U.S. Department of Defense missions. This certification supports deployment of its AI-enabled tracking and modeling platforms in higher-security environments and may open access to a broader range of sensitive defense programs.
Management positioned the CMMC milestone as evidence of a strong cybersecurity culture for U.S. and allied space missions, potentially enhancing competitiveness against peers in space situational awareness and defense AI. While no new contracts were announced, the improved compliance profile could help the firm qualify for longer-term, higher-value government engagements.
The company also highlighted executive recognition for Chief Revenue Officer and Chief Marketing Officer Kelli Furrer, who was featured in Via Satellite’s “Celebrating Women in Satellite 2026.” Slingshot emphasized her role in aligning government, commercial, and technical stakeholders, supporting mission-focused revenue growth and brand visibility in satellite and defense markets.
On the commercial development front, Slingshot announced participation in the Space-Comm Europe event in London on March 4–5. The firm plans to showcase its AI-enabled tools that connect orbital awareness with threat detection, risk assessment, and decision support for real-world defense and commercial operations.
Nik Smith, Slingshot’s GM of International, is scheduled to speak on “Hybrid by Design: Multi-Orbit + Terrestrial Mission Assurance” at the Defence & National Security Conference Theatre. This speaking role underscores the company’s focus on mission assurance across multi-orbit and terrestrial architectures and signals its intent to deepen relationships with European defense and commercial customers.
Collectively, the CMMC Level 2 certification, executive recognition, and high-profile presence at Space-Comm Europe indicate a week of both operational and reputational gains. These developments reinforce Slingshot Aerospace’s positioning in space situational awareness and mission assurance, with potential to support future business development and expanded international reach.
