Skydio plans to invest $3.5 billion in the United States over the next five years to expand domestic drone manufacturing, accelerate AI and autonomy R&D, and reinforce U.S.-based supply chains for critical components. The company expects the plan to add more than 2,000 Skydio jobs and support over 3,000 additional roles at domestic suppliers, with more than $1 billion in spending directed to U.S. partners.

A central element of the strategy is SkyForge, a program aimed at localizing production of key drone parts by opening a new U.S. facility five times larger than Skydio’s current plant and inviting select suppliers to co-locate and scale alongside Skydio’s engineering teams. The company, which has shipped over 60,000 dual-use drones to 3,800 customers including every branch of the U.S. military, 1,200-plus public safety agencies, and major utilities, positions this commitment as a bid to secure U.S. leadership in autonomous flying robots and resilient supply chains across public safety, defense, and critical infrastructure markets.
