Sierra Space has strengthened its national security posture by appointing retired U.S. Space Force Lt. Gen. John Shaw to its board of directors, where he will chair the Classified Business and Security Committee, signaling a deeper push into high-end defense and intelligence missions. CEO Dan Jablonsky said Shaw’s decades of operational experience in national security space will help the company stay responsive to evolving defense requirements and better align with U.S. strategic space priorities.

Board Chair Fatih Ozmen highlighted that Shaw’s network across defense, intelligence, and NASA is expected to enhance board oversight as Sierra Space positions itself for long-term growth in an increasingly contested space domain. Shaw, who retired as a three-star general in November 2023, noted the company’s reputation as a trusted partner for sensitive missions and emphasized its role in shaping both current defense solutions and future civil and commercial space activities.
