Sibel Health Wins $3.5 Million ARPA-H Contract to Develop Continuous Edema Monitoring Wearable

New updates have been reported about Sibel Health.

Sibel Health has secured a $3.5 million Direct-to-Phase II SBIR contract from the Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health to develop a wearable biosensor patch that continuously monitors lower-leg edema outside traditional care settings. The funding accelerates Sibel’s efforts to replace today’s subjective, manual edema checks with objective, real-time data that could materially improve management of conditions such as congestive heart failure, a major U.S. cost driver in hospitalizations and readmissions.

The new ultra-thin, flexible sensor will integrate with Sibel’s existing FDA-cleared mobile software and cloud platform, expanding the company’s product portfolio beyond current ANNE-branded monitoring systems into ambulatory edema tracking. By backing this high-risk, high-reward project, ARPA-H is effectively underwriting key hardware, sensing, signal processing, and clinical validation work that could strengthen Sibel’s competitive position in remote patient monitoring and open new reimbursement and partnership opportunities if the technology proves clinically and commercially viable.
