SHEIN is using new consumer data and physical retail activation to position itself at the center of U.S. festival spending among Gen Z and Millennial shoppers in 2026. The company’s Festival Trends Survey of 18,603 U.S. customers, conducted via its app in early March, shows nearly 58% of festivalgoers now plan at least two outfits per day and 69% start curating looks a month or more in advance, almost double the share reported in 2024.
The findings confirm social media as a key demand driver for SHEIN, with haul videos, Get-Ready-With-Me content, and online mood boards ranking as top style influences and reinforcing the brand’s reliance on digital discovery to convert intent into sales. Affordability remains the core purchase trigger, as most respondents aim to keep apparel items at or below $25 and accessories under $10, aligning closely with SHEIN’s low-price, high-volume model and supporting its on-demand production strategy.
Comfort and practicality also shape the company’s merchandising approach, with survey respondents prioritizing comfortable shoes, sunglasses, shorts, tank tops, and lightweight dresses that can withstand long days at multi-day events. U.S. Head of Brand PR Lisa Zlotnick framed the results as evidence that shoppers are highly intentional about both budgets and styling, creating an opportunity for SHEIN to capture wallet share from early planners who are actively seeking full-look solutions.
To monetize this seasonal demand beyond its app, SHEIN is launching a Festival House pop-up on Melrose Avenue in Los Angeles from March 26–29, giving customers a physical channel to shop curated festival themes such as Boho Festival, Cowgirl, Retro Streetwear, Punk Rock, and Desert Rave. The temporary store is designed to translate digital insights into targeted assortments and experiences, aiming to deepen engagement with high-frequency festival shoppers, generate incremental sales ahead of peak events, and reinforce SHEIN’s positioning as a default destination for budget-conscious, trend-driven festival fashion.
