Shakeology Expands Into U.S. Retail With Sprouts Launch and KeHE Distribution Deal

According to a recent LinkedIn post from The Beachbody Company Inc, the company’s Shakeology brand is moving into U.S. retail for the first time, beginning with more than 80 Sprouts Farmers Market locations from May 18. The post indicates Shakeology will be sold in new 7‑serving bags in four flavors, aligning the product format with typical grocery merchandising.

The company’s LinkedIn post also highlights a strategic distribution partnership with KeHE Distributors, which services more than 30,000 retail locations focused on natural and specialty products. This partnership suggests potential for broader retail penetration beyond Sprouts, signaling an omnichannel shift from a historically direct‑to‑consumer model.

According to the post, Shakeology was first introduced in 2009 and is described as combining protein, fiber, prebiotics, probiotics, vitamins, minerals, and over 30 superfoods. The brand has reportedly generated more than $4 billion in cumulative sales and delivered over 1 billion servings through direct‑to‑consumer channels, underscoring an established revenue base now being leveraged for retail expansion.

For investors, the move into brick‑and‑mortar retail and the KeHE partnership may indicate a strategy to diversify distribution, reduce reliance on direct sales, and access new customers in the natural and specialty grocery channel. If executed effectively, this omnichannel expansion could support incremental revenue growth and strengthen The Beachbody Company Inc’s competitive position in the crowded protein and superfood shake market.
