Secai, the Montréal-based healthcare AI company behind the Voxira platform, has entered a strategic partnership with Mila – Quebec’s artificial intelligence institute – to accelerate the development and deployment of its clinical automation tools across North America. By integrating Mila’s deep learning research and expert network into its product roadmap, Secai aims to enhance real-time clinical reasoning, strengthen the robustness of its AI models, and scale its impact in reducing administrative burdens in healthcare settings.
The collaboration also reinforces the credibility of Secai’s technology stack, which already powers Voxira, a unified platform designed to automate the administrative layer of clinical practice. Voxira includes Voxira Voice, an AI medical assistant that manages appointments, patient requests, and calls around the clock, and Voxira Scribe, a real-time documentation and transcription tool that allows physicians to focus on patient care while notes are generated in the background.
Voxira is positioned as a compliant and rigorously tested solution, having become the first AI voice agent to receive TGV certification from Quebec’s Ministry of Health, a milestone that signals regulatory alignment and reliability for clinics evaluating automation tools. Secai’s CEO, Dr. Ragui Ibrahim, said the Mila partnership validates both the sophistication of the company’s technology and the urgency of the administrative challenges it is addressing in healthcare.
He emphasized that access to Mila’s world-class research environment will help Secai push the frontier of medical AI from autonomous patient interactions to advanced, real-time clinical reasoning. Mila’s executive vice president, Stéphane Létourneau, noted that administrative work remains a major barrier to efficient care and welcomed Secai into the institute’s ecosystem as part of a broader effort to make healthcare more efficient and patient-centric.
Strategically, the agreement gives Secai a stronger innovation pipeline and potential differentiation in a crowded healthcare automation market, as it can incorporate cutting-edge deep learning advancements more rapidly into Voxira’s capabilities. For healthcare providers and clinics across North America, the partnership could translate into more reliable automation of patient intake, scheduling, and documentation, potentially lowering operating costs and improving patient access.
Secai positions its expanding ecosystem as a bridge between frontier AI research and daily clinical workflows, targeting a clear pain point: clinicians’ time lost to paperwork and administrative coordination. By leveraging Mila’s research base while maintaining a practical focus on clinic operations, Secai is betting that highly specialized, certified AI agents like Voxira will become core infrastructure in modern healthcare delivery over the coming years.
