SandboxAQ CEO Positions India at Center of “AI or Die” Industrial Shift

SandboxAQ is sharpening its strategic focus on India as a priority growth market, with CEO Jack Hidary telling the World Economic Forum that companies and governments face an “AI or Die” moment in modernizing real-economy sectors. He argued that India is structurally positioned to lead this phase of adoption because roughly 80% of its GDP is tied to physical infrastructure such as railways, energy, telecom, and public utilities, where SandboxAQ’s physics- and chemistry-based AI systems can drive measurable efficiency, resilience, and safety gains.

Hidary linked this opportunity to India’s recent policy moves, including the AI Impact Summit 2026 in New Delhi, which drew more than 100 countries and produced the New Delhi Declaration on Responsible AI, and a major expansion of compute under the IndiaAI Mission to nearly 60,000 GPUs, which could materially increase demand for advanced AI platforms. He also highlighted that the first fully AI-discovered drug, rentosertib, has reported positive Phase IIa data in Nature Medicine, underscoring the commercial potential of SandboxAQ’s Large Quantitative Models in life sciences, while warning that AI also heightens cyber risk at a time when the World Economic Forum’s 2026 Global Risks Report ranks cyber insecurity among the top global threats.
