Robotera closed a substantial Series A+ funding round of nearly RMB 1 billion (about USD 140 million), led by Geely Capital with strategic participation from BAIC Capital. This new capital complements an existing investor base that includes Alibaba Group and Haier Capital, collectively signaling strong validation from major technology and industrial players. The funding is earmarked for rapid product iteration, mass production, and larger-scale deployment across three core product lines: full-size bipedal humanoid robots, full-size wheeled service robots, and the XHAND 1 dexterous robotic hand. The entry of automotive-backed investors such as Geely and BAIC is expected to generate synergies in manufacturing, supply chain integration, and large-scale industrial and mobility applications, helping the company move from pilot projects to broader commercialization.
Operationally, Robotera has already achieved noteworthy traction, claiming nine of the world’s ten most valuable technology companies as customers. Its humanoid platform has demonstrated advanced real-world capabilities, including autonomous walking on snow and world-record performance at the World Humanoid Robot Games in both long jump and high jump. The XHAND 1, built on a fully direct-drive architecture optimized for reinforcement learning, can manipulate more than 100 different tools and is widely used as a research platform in leading embodied-intelligence laboratories. These technical milestones underpin Robotera’s aim to be a key infrastructure provider for next-generation robotics across enterprise, industrial, and research markets.
In parallel, Robotera signed a strategic cooperation agreement with the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), becoming the only Chinese embodied-intelligence company to secure such a partnership at the UNIDO General Conference. The collaboration focuses on three pillars: technology deployment, global project collaboration, and ecosystem building. Working with UNIDO, Robotera plans to co-develop and deploy solutions in manufacturing, logistics, and commercial services to enhance efficiency and improve working conditions, particularly for small and medium-sized enterprises in emerging markets. The partnership will also support cross-border implementation projects and technical exchanges, and Robotera will play a central role in ecosystem-building efforts at the Beijing Digital Economy Centre of Excellence through joint labs and open-innovation initiatives.
Taken together, the sizable funding round and the UNIDO partnership significantly improve Robotera’s financial capacity, global visibility, and access to deployment opportunities. These developments position the company to accelerate commercialization, deepen its role in industrial upgrading, and solidify its standing in the global embodied-intelligence robotics landscape, marking a notably positive and strategically important week for Robotera.
