Rad AI Strengthens C-Suite With New COO and First Chief Clinical Officer to Support Rapid Growth

New updates have been reported about Rad AI.

Meet Samuel – Your Personal Investing Prophet

Rad AI has expanded its executive team to support rapid scaling of its AI-driven radiology platform, appointing David Leonard as Chief Operating Officer and board-certified radiologist Elizabeth Bergey, MD, as its first Chief Clinical Officer. The moves are designed to tighten operational discipline and deepen physician-led clinical strategy as health systems accelerate adoption of AI tools to manage rising imaging volumes and increasingly complex workflows.

Leonard, previously head of operations, strategy and investor relations at Rad AI, will now oversee global operations with a mandate to build infrastructure that can support enterprise deployments and sharpen the company’s go-to-market execution. Bergey, who transitions from Chief Medical Innovation Officer and formerly served as President and CEO of Quantum Radiology, will lead clinical strategy and medical affairs, acting as a conduit between product innovation and the financial and operational realities of radiology groups.

Both executives join Rad AI’s top leadership at a time when its product suite—Rad AI Reporting, Rad AI Impressions and Rad AI Continuity—is positioned to address structural challenges such as radiologist shortages, burnout and gaps in patient follow-up. The company’s tools are intended to standardize reporting, reduce administrative load and improve capture of potential new cancers, helping health systems drive both efficiency and quality metrics. CEO Doktor Gurson emphasized that the appointments are central to maintaining reliable performance at scale as demand grows.

Rad AI’s market traction underscores the strategic importance of these hires, with the company ranked among the top AI partners considered by U.S. health systems in a 2025 KLAS survey and repeatedly listed on the Inc. 5000 and Deloitte Fast 500 as one of the fastest-growing healthcare technology providers. It has also been recognized by CB Insights, CNBC’s Disruptor 50 and Fast Company’s Most Innovative Companies, signaling strong external validation of its model. For executives at provider organizations and investors, the enhanced operational and clinical leadership suggests Rad AI is preparing for larger, more complex enterprise engagements and deeper integration into core radiology workflows across the U.S. market.
