Qunnect Highlights Quantum Networking Record and Expansion of Open-Access Testbeds

A LinkedIn post from Qunnect describes a recent world-record experiment in quantum networking conducted with Cisco on deployed commercial fiber in New York City. The post notes the entanglement swapping test ran over 17.6 kilometers of noisy urban fiber through QTD Systems’ data center at 60 Hudson Street and reportedly achieved performance nearly 10,000 times beyond prior benchmarks on similar platforms.

According to the post, this result was enabled by GothamQ, characterized as a live quantum network built on real-world infrastructure that allows experimental validation beyond theoretical work. The company’s LinkedIn content positions GothamQ as a model for ABQ-Net in New Mexico, an open-access quantum network that is described as operational and intended to connect Sandia National Laboratories, universities, and private industry.

The post indicates that ABQ-Net has backing from the New Mexico Economic Development Department and funding from Roadrunner Venture Studios, suggesting some level of public–private support for Qunnect’s ecosystem. For investors, this could signal potential for de-risked R&D, access to national-lab collaborations, and a platform-based approach where third parties test quantum applications on Qunnect’s infrastructure.
