Qumis has raised an oversubscribed $4.3 million seed round led by MTech Capital, with American Family Ventures joining as a strategic investor and all existing backers participating, bringing total funding to $6.75 million. The company plans to use the capital to expand its go-to-market organization and enhance its attorney-trained AI platform, positioning Qumis as a core coverage intelligence tool for large brokers, carriers, and coverage-focused law firms.

The platform is designed to replicate and scale the reasoning of seasoned coverage attorneys, reading complex commercial insurance policies, endorsements, and exclusions to deliver citation-backed analyses and market insights that can replace much of the work of outside counsel and internal data teams. With traction already demonstrated at major intermediaries such as NFP, an Aon company, where usage has expanded from a single team to hundreds of users, Qumis is moving toward becoming embedded infrastructure in coverage workflows, addressing industry-wide pressures from social inflation, rising risk complexity, and talent constraints.
