The company announced it has raised a US$5 million seed round led by BITKRAFT Ventures and GFR Fund, with participation from a16z speedrun, 1Up Ventures, and Gaingels. Qloud Games is developing Loftia, an online social game positioned as an “immersive, online third space.” The team has grown to approximately 30 employees and is currently conducting Alpha playtests with its community as it progresses toward an Early Access launch.
For investors, the successful seed funding round signals growing institutional confidence in Qloud Games’ concept and execution capability despite a competitive gaming and metaverse-adjacent environment. The involvement of sector-focused investors such as BITKRAFT and brand-name backers linked to Andreessen Horowitz (a16z) may provide strategic support and industry connectivity, potentially improving the company’s prospects for future funding rounds and partnerships. Proceeds from the round are likely to be used for product development, team expansion, and live-operations readiness, which, if Loftia gains traction at Early Access, could accelerate revenue generation through game sales and in-game monetization. However, commercial outcomes will depend on user acquisition, retention, and the ability to differentiate Loftia within the broader online social and gaming ecosystem.
