Qloud Games has shared an update. The company announced it has raised a US$5 million seed round led by BITKRAFT Ventures and GFR Fund, with participation from a16z Speedrun, 1Up Ventures, and Gaingels. Qloud Games, founded three years ago, is developing Loftia, an online social game described as an immersive “third space.” The team has grown to around 30 employees and is currently running alpha playtests with its community while progressing toward an Early Access launch.

For investors, the successful seed raise from sector-focused and tier-one venture firms signals external validation of Qloud Games’ concept and execution to date, potentially strengthening its ability to attract talent and accelerate development. The capital injection should extend the company’s runway through key milestones such as Early Access, where user engagement, retention metrics, and monetization patterns will become clearer. While the social and community-focused gaming segment is competitive and hit-driven, participation from gaming-specialist funds like BITKRAFT and established investors such as a16z suggests confidence in Loftia’s positioning within the broader online social and gaming markets. Execution risks remain around product-market fit, scalability of the community, and eventual revenue generation, but this funding round improves Qloud Games’ financial flexibility and may enhance its strategic standing in the emerging virtual “third space” gaming niche.
