Powerus Highlights Scale-Up of Guardian-1 Counter-Drone Interceptor

According to a recent LinkedIn post from Powerus, the company is highlighting its Guardian-1 Interceptor as a lower-cost kinetic counter-drone system aimed at addressing the so‑called “missile math” problem. The post suggests Guardian-1 targets a 200:1 cost advantage versus current intercept solutions used against relatively low-cost drones.

The LinkedIn post notes that Guardian-1 weighs 2.65 kg, is intended to be operated by a single user, and reaches speeds of 290–340 km/h for high-speed interception. It further indicates the system has been “battle-tested” with confirmed kills in active combat zones and has been validated by U.S. servicemembers at the National Training Center.

Powerus’ post also points to a planned manufacturing ramp, indicating an increase in production capacity from 1,000 to 5,000 units per month within four months. If realized, this scale-up could position the company to pursue sizable orders in the counter-UAS segment, particularly as militaries and security agencies seek more cost-efficient responses to drone swarms.

The post frames Guardian-1 as a response to one-way attack drones such as the Shahed-136 and emphasizes affordability, scalability, and portability as differentiators. For investors, this focus suggests a strategy centered on filling an emerging niche in modern air defense, which could expand Powerus’ addressable market if its technology gains wider operational acceptance and procurement traction.
