Powerus Highlights Guardian-1 Interceptor as Low-Cost Counter-Drone Solution

According to a recent LinkedIn post from Powerus, the company is spotlighting its Guardian-1 Interceptor as a lower-cost kinetic response to the growing threat from low-cost attack drones. The post describes a “missile math” imbalance, positioning Guardian-1 as offering an estimated 200:1 cost advantage versus traditional interceptors.

The LinkedIn post highlights performance characteristics including a 2.65 kg weight, speeds of 290–340 km/h, and what is described as battle use with confirmed kills and validation by U.S. servicemembers at the National Training Center. It also references a planned production ramp from 1,000 to 5,000 units per month within four months.

According to the post, Powerus, founded by former U.S. Army Special Operations veterans, is targeting the specific threat of one-way attack drones such as the Shahed-136 with a scalable and lower-cost defense solution. For investors, the emphasis on high-volume manufacturing and cost-efficient interception suggests potential for recurring defense procurement demand if the system proves effective and gains formal adoption.

The focus on counter-UAS capabilities and claimed operational validation may position Powerus competitively within the rapidly expanding drone-defense and national security market. If the indicated production ramp is realized and underpinned by contracts, it could support revenue growth and enhance the company’s standing as budgets shift toward asymmetric threat mitigation technologies.
