PolyAI has launched its Agent Development Kit (ADK), positioning the company at the center of how enterprises design and operate AI agents for customer experience by shifting from UI-driven configuration to a developer-first, code-centric model. The ADK lets engineering teams build against PolyAI’s platform directly from their own environments, using preferred languages, IDEs, and AI coding assistants to generate, test, and refine production-grade agent logic with full visibility and version control.
By aligning CX agent creation with standard software engineering workflows, PolyAI aims to reduce implementation timelines from weeks to hours, a claim supported by early enterprise adopters that have rapidly built complex flows and processed large FAQ sets using the ADK. The company says customers can reuse production patterns informed by more than 500,000 hours of prior deployments, effectively productizing its implementation know-how and creating a defensible moat around its platform and methodology.
Internally, PolyAI reports that over 60% of its own engineering work now runs through ADK-powered workflows, with human developers supervising and steering AI-generated output, highlighting the tool’s potential to structurally lower development costs and accelerate feature delivery.
