PointClickCare is expanding its AI roadmap with the launch of Referral Advisor, an intake and referral management solution embedded in its electronic health record platform for skilled nursing facilities (SNFs). Rolling out later this month to select SNF customers, Referral Advisor uses AI to ingest large, fragmented referral packets, extract and validate key clinical and financial data, and provide instant, structured insights to support faster, more accurate admission decisions. The tool is designed to materially reduce referral review times, alleviate administrative burden, and help providers convert more appropriate referrals, directly impacting occupancy, revenue capture, and case-mix optimization.

The solution builds on PointClickCare’s recently launched Chart Advisor and underscores the company’s strategy to monetize its extensive longitudinal data asset by embedding AI into core workflows across post-acute care. By centralizing all inbound referrals and eliminating manual data entry, Referral Advisor aims to help SNFs respond more quickly to hospitals, strengthen referral relationships, and demonstrate data-driven performance in an environment marked by staffing constraints and tighter reimbursement. CEO Dave Wessinger and Chief Product and Technology Officer David Pessis positioned the product as a cornerstone in PointClickCare’s broader AI portfolio, which targets high-friction operational processes with measurable financial and clinical impact. Referral Advisor will be showcased at the JP Morgan Healthcare Conference, where PointClickCare plans to highlight ongoing AI investments and its ambition to become the intelligence layer for post-acute care transitions across its network of more than 30,000 provider organizations and all major U.S. health plans.
