Plume – Weekly Recap

Plume spent the week underscoring its push to bring real-world assets onchain, combining regulatory hires with new DeFi integrations. The company announced the appointment of former FINRA examiner Justin Vose as Compliance Director, working alongside General Counsel B. Salman Banaei, a former SEC Special Counsel.

This senior compliance buildout signals a stronger focus on governance, oversight, and engagement with regulators worldwide as Plume scales its real-world asset strategy. The move is aimed at navigating complex jurisdictional requirements more effectively, which could support broader institutional adoption and activity in regulated markets.

At the same time, Plume highlighted the expansion of the Nest protocol onto the Solana blockchain through an integration with Perena’s “stablebank.” Perena’s USD* stable asset will allocate part of its reserves into a Nest-curated real-world asset vault on Solana, giving users exposure to institutionally managed credit strategies, including private credit.

The structure is designed to embed offchain yield into onchain stable-value instruments, allowing Solana users to earn real-world income while remaining fully onchain. LayerZero Labs’ cross-chain infrastructure will support secure coordination and native Solana issuance, aiming to avoid liquidity fragmentation and deepen capital formation on the network.

Collectively, these developments reinforce Plume’s strategic positioning at the intersection of RWA tokenization, institutional credit, and DeFi infrastructure. While added compliance capabilities may increase operating costs in the near term, they also enhance credibility, and the Solana integration could expand fee opportunities if user adoption grows.

Investors may view the week’s news as evidence that Plume is aligning its regulatory foundation with product expansion in high-interest segments such as stable assets and private credit. Overall, the company advanced both its compliance framework and ecosystem role, potentially strengthening its long-term prospects in the onchain RWA market.
