Plenful has introduced its MFP Intelligence solution to help health systems reconcile Medicare Maximum Fair Price refunds, positioning the company at the center of a new revenue-protection need created by the Inflation Reduction Act’s Drug Price Negotiation Program. Deployed with major customers such as Henry Ford Health and St. Luke’s Health System, the platform has already surfaced cases where up to 20% of expected Medicare MFP refunds are missing, directly tying Plenful’s technology to recoverable revenue and financial integrity for large pharmacy networks.
The MFP Intelligence tool operates as an enterprise-grade command center that ingests and reconciles claims data across disparate pharmacy systems, 340B programs, and MFP remittance files at the claim level. Acting as a Third Party Support Entity, it automates identification of missing or duplicated refunds, supports Good Faith Inquiry workflows with manufacturers, and delivers macro and claim-level analytics through executive dashboards, strengthening Plenful’s position in regulatory compliance and revenue optimization and expanding its existing 340B audit and rebate management offerings.
For Henry Ford Health, one of the country’s largest 340B operators with more than 40 pharmacies, Plenful’s platform has become critical infrastructure as MFP rules begin to affect reimbursement. The health system reports that Plenful centralizes data, flags discrepancies, and reduces manual work, while enabling close monitoring of whether anticipated refunds are actually received, underscoring the operational and financial stakes for large health systems navigating the new Medicare pricing regime.
Strategically, the MFP capability broadens Plenful’s suite beyond traditional 340B optimization into a wider Medicare pricing and rebate management domain, increasing its relevance to pharmacy, revenue cycle, and finance leaders who need verifiable, claim-level visibility into high-value government-driven cash flows. With more than 95 health systems and other providers already using Plenful’s AI workflow automation for 340B management, revenue optimization, and intake authorization, the company is positioned to capture incremental demand as drug price negotiations and related refund mechanisms introduce new compliance and reconciliation risks across the pharmacy ecosystem.
CEO Joy Liu emphasized that many customers lacked infrastructure to reliably track these funds once Medicare drug price negotiations took effect, and that Plenful built MFP Intelligence to automate this reconciliation with audit-ready detail. For executives, the product represents both a risk-mitigation and revenue-recapture lever: it can reduce labor-intensive back-office processes, improve cash recovery from manufacturers, and potentially stabilize or enhance margins in pharmacy operations as MFP and 340B interactions grow more complex over the coming years.
