Pivot Energy closed 2025 with record operational and financing milestones, underscoring the company’s resilience amid U.S. policy uncertainty and pressure on clean energy tax incentives. The Denver-based independent power producer permitted more than 235 MW of commercial and community-scale solar projects and reached a cumulative 4.3 GW of solar either completed or under development, spanning roughly 1,000 completed projects and 900 in the pipeline. Despite challenges from the “One Big Beautiful Bill” and its rollbacks to the Clean Energy Investment Credit, Pivot secured $435 million in financing agreements for 2025, strengthening its balance sheet and funding capacity for continued project deployment and solar-plus-storage solutions. The company also advanced its dual-use land strategy: 95% of qualified ground-mounted projects included agrivoltaic elements such as livestock grazing, pollinator habitats, or crop production, with active grazing incorporated at 98% of those sites, marking a 300% growth in agrivoltaic activity since 2023.
Pivot deepened its commercial and institutional customer base by expanding partnerships with Fortune 500 corporates and universities, and by delivering three community solar projects tied to an offtake agreement with Tapestry Inc., under which Tapestry is purchasing impact renewable energy certificates. The company reinforced its ESG credentials by distributing nearly $700,000 in community donations to organizations focused on workforce development, affordable energy access, education, and agricultural land stewardship in Colorado, Illinois, Hawaii, and Maryland, while also building relationships with institutions such as Colorado State University, the University of Denver, and the University of Colorado Boulder. CEO Tom Hunt highlighted Pivot’s strong year as evidence of the firm’s ability to navigate regulatory volatility and maintain growth in distributed solar. Multiple industry awards in 2025, including recognition for cleantech impact, workplace culture, and community green power leadership, further position Pivot as a leading national platform heading into 2026, with management signaling continued emphasis on solar-plus-storage, land stewardship, and long-term value creation for clients and local communities.
