Pivot Energy has completed three Illinois community solar projects totaling 13.475 MWac under a 15-year renewable energy credit (REC) agreement with Tapestry, Inc., positioning the company to expand its independent power producer portfolio and recurring revenue base. The projects, located in Peoria, Dover, and Ottawa, are financed, developed, owned, and operated by Pivot, and are the first of five planned community solar assets in the state under this partnership; the remaining two projects are expected to reach completion by 2030. Collectively, the Illinois portfolio is expected to generate more than 23,000 MWh of renewable energy annually, providing Pivot with long-term contracted cash flows from REC sales while supporting Tapestry’s decarbonization strategy and 100% renewable electricity commitment across its global operations.

Beyond power generation, Pivot is using this portfolio to deepen its community and workforce development strategy in a key growth market. Across the five projects, Pivot has committed over $115,000 in local impact funding, with nearly $65,000 already directed to Illinois Central College and HIRE360 to build solar workforce training programs that target fossil-fuel workers and underrepresented groups. These commitments support project acceptance, strengthen Pivot’s social-impact credentials as a B-Corporation, and may facilitate smoother development of future assets in the region. The Illinois projects also reinforce Pivot’s positioning as a partner of choice for corporate buyers seeking scalable community solar solutions and long-term REC structures, underscoring a business model that integrates asset ownership, project development, and ESG-driven stakeholder engagement. Executives should view this as an incremental step-up in Pivot’s contracted asset base, a proof point of its corporate offtaker strategy, and a template for future multi-project portfolios with embedded community investment components.
