Persona AI has entered a research and development partnership with Under Armour to test how advanced performance materials can enhance the next generation of humanoid robots deployed in physically demanding and high-risk industrial environments. The company is designing its robots for tasks such as welding, heavy manufacturing, work in extreme heat and handling hazardous materials, with the goal of reducing human exposure to dangerous and strenuous conditions.
As part of this collaboration, Persona AI is working to define a global standard for performance equipment tailored specifically to robots, aiming to improve durability, thermal regulation and operational reliability in real-world use. The early-stage program combines Persona AI’s robotics expertise with Under Armour’s know-how in high-performance textiles to study how different fabrics behave under heat, friction, repetitive motion and other stresses, which CEO Nicolaus Radford says will inform long-term product design and better protection solutions for human workers supported by these systems.
