Persona AI has entered a research and development collaboration with Under Armour to evaluate how advanced performance materials can improve the durability, safety, and efficiency of its humanoid robots in heavy-duty industrial settings. The company’s systems are being designed for physically intensive, high-risk tasks such as welding, heavy manufacturing, extreme heat exposure, and hazardous material handling, with the goal of reducing strain and improving safety for human workers.
Under the collaboration, Persona AI aims to help establish a global standard for robot-specific performance gear by testing how external material layers support thermal regulation, abrasion resistance, and resilience under real-world operating conditions. The joint work is focused on early-stage research and testing of textiles under heat, friction, and repetitive motion, combining Persona AI’s robotics expertise with Under Armour’s high-performance material innovation to inform future industrial deployment of humanoid robots.
