Perplexity Highlights Developer Conference and Expanding AI API Footprint

According to a recent LinkedIn post from Perplexity, the company is planning its first developer conference, branded “Ask,” scheduled for March 11 in San Francisco. The post indicates that Perplexity is reserving seats for select developers outside its existing network, suggesting an effort to broaden engagement with the developer ecosystem.

The company’s LinkedIn post highlights that Perplexity APIs are now integrated into hundreds of millions of Samsung devices and used by six of the so‑called “Mag 7” large tech companies. This reach, if sustained, could underpin recurring API revenue streams and strengthen Perplexity’s positioning as an infrastructure provider within the AI and search stack.

The post also claims the release of a search embeddings API that it suggests outperforms Google and references a new product, Perplexity Computer, described as the company’s most powerful AI product so far. For investors, these product claims point to an aggressive innovation roadmap that may enhance Perplexity’s competitive profile against established AI and search providers.

By convening founders, top developers and partners at the “Ask” conference, Perplexity appears to be aiming to deepen its ecosystem, encourage third‑party development, and showcase recent advances. If the event succeeds in driving developer adoption and validating performance claims, it could support higher usage of Perplexity’s APIs and reinforce its long‑term growth and valuation prospects in the AI tools market.
