Pendo has acquired Chisel Labs, an AI-native product management platform based in San Francisco and Pune, marking its fourth acquisition in 18 months and its third focused on AI capabilities. The deal deepens Pendo’s investment in agentic AI for product teams, bringing in Chisel’s proprietary AI frameworks and its PM agent, which has been used to dramatically speed up workflows such as drafting product requirement documents and release notes, synthesizing user research, and triaging customer feedback. Pendo CEO and co-founder Todd Olson framed the transaction as a response to a compressed software development lifecycle, emphasizing that the strategic imperative now is to determine whether rapidly shipped products deliver real value, and positioning Chisel’s capabilities as enhancing Pendo’s strength in experience analytics and outcome measurement.
The acquisition also serves as the cornerstone of Pendo’s new India R&D hub, with Chisel’s Pune engineering team becoming the foundation of Pendo’s 10th global office. Pendo plans to scale this team to roughly 50 engineers by year-end, using the location to accelerate platform development and support global customers while expanding its AI talent base in a major technology market. Chisel founder and CEO Praful Chavda said the combination of Chisel’s AI for product managers with Pendo’s analytics and agent telemetry will enable more holistic, autonomous PM agents that give teams greater confidence to move quickly while staying data-driven. The announcement precedes Pendomonium, Pendo’s annual product-focused event in March, where the company is expected to further articulate its AI roadmap and how these acquisitions integrate into its broader strategy to manage and measure software and agent experiences at scale.
