In West Texas, Origis is advancing a large-scale renewable complex centered around the Midland–Odessa region. A key element is the Greyhound A Solar project in West Odessa, a 303 MWdc (240 MWac) facility backed by a long-term power purchase agreement with Meta. The project is expected to enter commercial operation by mid-2026 and will support Meta’s data center loads while adding capacity to the regional grid. Greyhound A is part of a broader Origis portfolio in the area, where approximately 1 GW of solar capacity is already fully subscribed, with about half operational and the balance targeted to come online in 2026.

To support this growing footprint, Origis announced an in-person hiring event in Odessa, Texas, aimed at recruiting experienced solar technicians for its Field Operations team. The event, held at the Odessa Marriott Hotel & Conference Center, features on-the-spot interviews and final-round site visits to the nearby Rockhound Solar plant, with remote application options available via email. This workforce expansion is intended to enhance reliability, performance optimization, and maintenance capabilities across its West Texas assets, reflecting a need to support existing and forthcoming project capacity.

Strategically, Origis plans to scale the West Texas hub into a more than 2 GW integrated solar and storage complex by 2029, representing roughly $2.5 billion in infrastructure investment. The multi-phase build-out is expected to deepen its presence in serving energy-intensive customers such as data centers and to diversify revenue through long-duration PPAs with investment-grade offtakers, improving long-term cash flow visibility while incrementally increasing near-term operating and capital commitments.

In Florida, Origis, in partnership with the Florida Municipal Power Agency, has placed the Whistling Duck Solar Energy Center in Levy County into commercial operation. Commissioned in December 2025, Whistling Duck is the fourth project under the Florida Municipal Solar Project and completes its 300 MW Phase II expansion. The facility adds nearly 75 MWac of capacity under long-term arrangements for four municipal electric systems—Homestead, Key West, Lake Worth Beach, and Winter Park—with Origis retaining ownership and operational responsibilities.

Across the Florida municipal portfolio, Origis now delivers 300 MW of solar capacity to 13 communities, reinforcing its track record in multi-phase public power initiatives and its build–own–operate model. Overall, the week reflects steady progress for Origis Energy in expanding contracted capacity, reinforcing its operational workforce, and strengthening its position in both corporate and municipal solar markets, supporting a constructive outlook for its long-term growth profile.
