Origis Energy has successfully closed a $290 million financing deal for its Swift Air Solar II and III projects in Ector County, Texas. These projects, which have a combined capacity of 313 MWdc, are part of a larger 600 MW solar complex. The financing package, arranged by Natixis Corporate & Investment Banking and Santander Corporate & Investment Banking, includes construction debt, term debt, and a tax credit bridge loan. The projects are expected to begin commercial production in the fourth quarter of 2025 and will provide zero-emission solar power under long-term agreements with Occidental Power and its subsidiary, OLCV Stratos Development.

This financing milestone underscores Origis Energy’s strategic growth in renewable energy, marking a significant step toward its goal of bringing over 3 GW of contracted assets into operation by 2026. The Swift Air Solar projects will support the Direct Air Capture facility, STRATOS, in the Permian Basin, highlighting Origis’s role in advancing decarbonization efforts. The collaboration with Natixis CIB and Santander reflects a continued partnership, following previous joint ventures, including a $750 million construction warehouse facility. Origis Energy’s CFO, Alice Heathcote, expressed gratitude for the ongoing partnership, emphasizing the company’s ability to scale efficiently. The successful financing further cements Origis’s position as a key player in the renewable energy sector, contributing to the transition to a carbon-free future.
