Origis Energy has closed $118 million in tax equity financing with RBC Community Investments to support its Chalan Solar + Storage project in Kern County, California. The company will build, own, and operate the 65 MWac solar facility paired with a 25 MW / 100 MWh battery system, with commercial operation targeted for the fourth quarter of 2026.
All of the project’s output is backed by a 20-year power purchase agreement with Pioneer Community Energy, providing long-term revenue visibility and reinforcing Origis Energy’s contracted asset base. CFO Alice Heathcote said the transaction highlights the strength of Origis Energy’s platform across development and financing and its ability to attract institutional capital partners as it scales its U.S. solar and storage portfolio.
