OpenBox AI has launched publicly with a $5 million seed round led by Tykhe Ventures, positioning itself as a core governance layer for enterprise AI agents amid new U.S. and EU regulatory pressures. The company’s platform is designed to help organizations comply with the Trump Administration’s National AI Legislative Framework and the EU AI Act, both of which require demonstrable oversight, auditability, and control of high-risk and agentic AI systems.
Targeting the rapid adoption of autonomous AI agents that can access data, invoke APIs, and make decisions without human review, OpenBox AI enforces identity, authorization, and policy at execution time rather than relying solely on after-the-fact monitoring. Its capabilities include real-time audit trails, cryptographic attestation, human-in-the-loop controls for sensitive decisions, cross-organization trust infrastructure for multi-agent ecosystems, and cognitive behavior analysis with dynamic risk scoring to detect goal drift and adjust controls in real time.
The platform integrates with common AI and workflow stacks such as Temporal, n8n, Mastra, LangChain, AWS, and Cursor, and is offered without usage limits from day one, with advanced features and dedicated support available as paid options. Co-founders Asim Ahmad, with a background in investment and governance at BlackRock, and Tahir Mahmood, a former Microsoft technical lead with over 40 patents, designed OpenBox AI to meet the stringent governance requirements traditionally reserved for large institutions but now facing companies of all sizes deploying AI agents.
OpenBox AI already serves billion-dollar enterprises in sectors including logistics, healthcare, and media, and has been selected for the Accenture FinTech Innovation Lab London 2026 cohort, underscoring early market validation in regulated and financial environments. With regulators demanding verifiable controls, auditability, and risk management for AI systems, OpenBox AI aims to become critical infrastructure for boards, compliance leaders, and technology teams seeking to deploy AI agents at scale while managing regulatory, operational, and reputational risk.
