Niobium Unveils Encrypted Cloud Platform ‘The Fog’ to Commercialize FHE at Scale

New updates have been reported about Niobium.

Meet Samuel – Your Personal Investing Prophet

Niobium has launched The Fog, a fully homomorphic encryption-based cloud platform that keeps data encrypted throughout computation, positioning the company at the center of privacy-preserving AI and data processing. In private beta now and targeting a public release in late Q2 2026, the service allows enterprises to run production workloads and AI models without sharing decryption keys with any third party, including Niobium.

The platform runs initially on Niobium’s mistic Core FPGA accelerator, which the company says delivers up to twice the FHE performance of current GPUs and accelerators, and it is building a compatible ASIC with SEMIFIVE and Samsung Foundry to enable higher performance without breaking existing applications. Niobium has also hired Rob Sherrard as Head of Cloud to lead infrastructure buildout and is seeding adoption with pre-built FHE applications for encrypted semantic search, federated learning, and encrypted ML classification, supported by a full software stack and SDK that lets early users test encrypted compute use cases and shape the roadmap ahead of general availability.
