Neuron Factory, Inc., a Redwood City-based AI construction technology company founded by former Microsoft and Waymo leaders, has raised a strategic investment round led by Zacua Ventures with participation from Trimble Ventures, Suffolk Technologies, Imad Ventures, and existing backers including Colle Capital. The undisclosed funding will accelerate development and deployment of Neuron Factory’s AI-native preconstruction platform and its proprietary construction-focused knowledge graph, positioning the company as a core intelligence layer for large, complex projects.
Targeting the $14 trillion global construction market, Neuron Factory focuses on the preconstruction phase, where project risk, pricing, and contracts are determined but workflows remain fragmented and document-heavy. Its platform, already in production with major construction and building technology firms, ingests and connects drawings, documents, and decisions to enable at-scale risk analysis, discrepancy detection, and automated scope generation, integrating with existing tools without requiring full digital overhauls.
CEO and co-founder Zaid Kahn said the company is building an AI-native system that is tuned to each enterprise and operates seamlessly within existing organizational workflows, using an enterprise knowledge graph to give project managers richer context for decision-making and productivity gains. Investors highlighted Neuron Factory’s deep technical capabilities and progress in achieving semantic understanding of construction drawings, arguing that its ability to convert design intent into structured insights can accelerate risk assessment, improve contracting, and help customers better evaluate and win projects.
Backers also see significant international potential, particularly in Saudi Arabia and the wider GCC region, where large-scale, technically complex projects create demand for improved early-stage decision-making. With offices in Redwood City and London, Neuron Factory aims to become the foundational AI substrate for preconstruction and, over time, for AI agents operating across the broader construction lifecycle.
