Nerdio has introduced Nerdio Manager for Enterprise 8.0, positioning the company at the center of what it calls a “Great Migration” from purely cloud-based end-user computing to more hybrid, edge, and on-premises models. The release is designed to let large organizations standardize, mix, or transition between Windows 365 and Azure Virtual Desktop at their own pace, rather than committing to a single EUC architecture.
According to Chief Product and Technology Officer Scott Manchester, the new version is built for enterprises running complex, staged modernization programs who need to plan, deploy, optimize, and evolve Microsoft-based EUC estates without disrupting operations. The update significantly extends Nerdio’s role in hybrid deployments through new capabilities in global orchestration, DevOps alignment, and AI‑driven operations, and it includes support for Azure Virtual Desktop Hybrid on Nerdio’s platform in public preview.
Microsoft’s Tristan Scott, Partner Group Product Manager, emphasized that Azure Virtual Desktop Hybrid is intended as a stepping‑stone for customers migrating from on‑premises virtual environments to Windows 365 and Azure Virtual Desktop, underscoring Nerdio’s strategic alignment with Microsoft’s EUC roadmap. By giving IT teams granular control over when each session host moves from on‑premises to the cloud, Nerdio Manager for Enterprise 8.0 aims to reduce migration risk and help enterprises manage costs, performance, and compliance during transition.
The 8.0 release, slated for public preview in late May, deepens Nerdio’s value proposition for both enterprise IT departments and managed service providers managing complex, distributed workforces. With more than 23,000 customers worldwide already using its tools to manage Windows 365, Azure Virtual Desktop, and broader Microsoft 365 environments, Nerdio is reinforcing its position as a key infrastructure software partner for organizations pursuing hybrid work and multi‑phase cloud adoption strategies.
