Nanit has introduced the Nanit Lab Sleep Index, a nationwide, state-by-state ranking of infant sleep quality built from anonymized data drawn from more than 100,000 U.S. users of its baby-monitoring platform. The index, based on Nanit’s proprietary AI-derived Sleep Score for babies 0–8 months, establishes a national benchmark of 86 and highlights regional performance differences, with Northeastern states such as Maine, Massachusetts, Vermont, and New York among the strongest and rural Western and Mountain states lagging.

By aggregating Sleep Scores for the first time at population scale, Nanit is positioning its dataset and analytics as a core asset in early-childhood health intelligence, reinforcing its value proposition to parents, healthcare partners, and potential research collaborators. Executives should note that Nanit Lab’s growing evidence base—over 5 billion hours of infant sleep from more than one million babies in 100+ countries—supports the company’s evolution toward predictive developmental analytics and its upcoming Parenting Intelligence System, potentially unlocking new subscription services, data partnerships, and long-term engagement beyond age four for its installed camera base.
